I'm going to Baku in the middle of June, and I have a question about accomodation:

Has anybody tried the 1000 camels hostel? Is it good? Is there other budget accomodation in Baku I should try instead?

I have found that "hostel" :)) there was a tumbledown building next to Meridian hotel with a white timber door on the ground floor and a big iron padlock on it...i did not notice any hostel sign, just a pictured camel on the door...i looked through a chink of the door, but there was not a living soul inside, just a small abandoned room with old furniture and dust everywhere...i could not guess that it was so-called "hostel" :)) I think everybody understand, that it does not really exist...alas, there is no any hostel in Baku...

I have not been there, but read "complimentary comments" about 1000 camel hostel. I found out that the tourists prefer to spend much money for hotel than to stay there :)) See the link:
