Ko Phi Phi Don Travel Forum

Will be arriving in Krabi in the morning on January 1, 2008 - will have a large gap in between the morning ferry and afternoon ferry. Should I rent a private speedboat to take me to the island from Krabi, or is there something to do in between the two ferries? We'll have suitcases, etc.

If speedboat is the option, how much does that run for 2 people?

Renting a speedboat from locals can be more expensive (or should i say ripping off) than taking regular one which operates daily.
Chack at what i call `agency stalls`-they are all over the place, and see if they have a tour. Than you`ll be able to get the return ticket and arange with them when to pick you up from Phi Phi. You`ll be traveling with other tourists so maybe you`ll stop for snorkeling on the way, what is not that bad, right? :)
I took a cruise to Phi Phi and met a guy who was going to spend 2 weeks at the island. Only two farries operaing and he missed that one in the morning. So i am more than sure you can do the same. It will cost you around 1000 baht pp, more or less.
Don`t forget to bargain for better prices.
