Hmmm... you can always try at spot. You'll compare the quality and price and choose the best that suits you. So far I haven't seen web site for advance booking in VV, but maybe there is one already. Or try with some agency in Vientiane/Luang Prabang.
I always did it on arrival, was no problem.

I am actually trying to organise a trip for 12 people, so I really need to know in advance to save confusion.
