| Kyoto | Shukubo - Temple Lodgings in Kyoto Posted: Mon May 21, 2007 06:06 PM UTC
Hi everybody,
I'm a female from germany and I'm going to travel to Kyoto in September. How can I book a temple lodging in Kyoto (without calling... would be very expensive from germany)? I wanna stay at Hiden-in with a female friend of mine. Can anybody help me? Thx in advance, genex13 |

It seems only telephone and the land mail work. How about writing to them for booking, with an alternative date or two? Then you have to send 1,000 yen per person as the booking charge. You may need negotiate to avoid expensive remittance charge.
Hiden-in 35 Sennyuji-Yamanouchi, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto 605-0977, JAPAN Tel +81-75-561-8781 Check-in 4 p.m., check-out 10 p.m. Rate: 4,725 yen (with tax) per person per night and breakfast Send 1,000 yen by mail in advance. Pay the balance at check-out.

I don't think it is impolite. I suppose the temple is familier to have foreign guests. You can ask the guest house staff to call the temple for booking.
