Torremolinos Travel Forum

Hi

I am heading off to Torremolinos tomorrow morning and was wondering what we should expect to pay for a taxi from the airport to the Hotel Griego Mar in Torremolinos?

I have heard that you should agree a price with the driver before getting in the taxi but would like to know what kind of price I should be agreeing on.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey, taxis are waiting for long time to make the "ride of the month" at the airport, so you're doing right being aware of them, specially if you are foreigner. Sometimes they don't want to let me in the car, because I'm Spanish and I go close, to west Malaga. They get ungry with me, don't help me with bags, etc, as revenge if I insist to take that taxi "by law".

I'm not sure the tariff to Torremolinos, because I go to Malaga, but seems to be the same distance. Expect to pay between 15-20€, so you're doing right asking before the ride.

PS. I'm not sure where you go, but the train stops in the center of Torremolinos. Times are limited and it's not very frequent, but I always prefer other kind of public transport than taxis.

Thank you very much for the information. I am just back from Torremolinos and had a great time!

Regarding the taxi, after arriving in Malaga we stepped out of the airport and the queue for the taxis was unbelieveable! So when a man came over and asked us if we wanted a taxi for 18.50 we jumped in! For us it was worth paying the extra 2.50 to jump the queue and get to our hotel ASAP!

However the taxi we got from the hotel to the airport on the way home was 16 Euro, which was a little more reasonable.

I bet those taxi drivers love to see the tourists coming so they can make lots of money out of us!

Regarding the train, we would definately use it if we go to Torremolinos again. We went by train to visit a friend in Los Boliches during our stay and the trains were lovely and the fares very reasonable. The security guard in Torremolinos station was very helpful and helped us use the machine to get our tickets. The trains were on time and very clean (far better than our trains at home!) and it was a lovely journey.

Train is very good, well worth it as long as your hotel isnt to far from the station
