| Cayo Coco | Hiring a Vehicle from Melia at Cayo Coco Posted: Sat May 19, 2007 09:05 AM UTC
Hey all,
Has anyone recently hired a vehicle from Cayo Coco, if so, can you tell me what was the state of the vehicle, was it safe, how much and were the driving conditions ok. Many thanks |

We hired a small jeep. It was old but absolutely fine. There is not much to see in the Cayos as it is just beaches, marshes and hotels.
You could visit M oron, the small town just outside the Cayos. Make sure you get back before dark because there is NO street lighting and all the roads/lanes look the same! Best to explore the beaches towards Cayo Guillermo. Beautiful private, secluded beaches and some with bar and a few with seafood restaurants. The roads are fine to drive along but remember to get back before dusk. Enjoy your trip.
