| Sorrento | arte card Posted: Sat May 19, 2007 04:48 AM UTC
Hello
I am thinking of buying the campania arte card (3days). Probably at naples airport. Will i be able to catch a bus into sorrento by using the card (from the airport)? Another option: If a buy the card at the airport can I activiate it at Sorrento before I go to Pompeii, so I can take advantage of using the train? If so, where do I do this? And do the 'local buses' include ones that go to Amalfi and Postitano? |

If you still need into - I copied this from my Tips for you - and their website is www.artecrad.it
The 3-day Arte Card worked very well for me while travelling in southern Italy. I purchased it upon arrival at the Naples Airport - for 25 Euros it gets you into the first two museums free and then discounts thereafter PLUS free travel on the Circumvesuviana trains and local buses for three days. On my first day in Italy I was able to enter the Museo Archeologico free, got a 2 Euro discount on the "hop-on, hop-off" bus tour and then it covered my train fare to my final destination of Sorrento. During the next two days with the card I was able to travel by train to Ercolano and it covered the entry to the Herculaneum ruins. Then I used it for train fare to Mt. Vesuvius (no discount here) and back to Sorrento. Finally, it was used to travel by train to Pompeii where I got reduced entry and the return train fare to Sorrento. I would recommend it as it makes it easier to get around initially in a foreign country until you catch on and can do it solo.
