I am thinking of getting a taxi from the airport as I'm not sure how to book a shuttle bus. How much would a taxi be and would it be by meter or should I bargain before we get into it? I think it is about a 20 minute trip. We will have a child with us so want the quickest and easiest way there.

You'd be better off to get the hotel shuttle. Contact your travel agent and get them to organise it. All hotels have regular services in their minibuses. Just that it could be cheaper than the taxi. Don't bank on 20 mins either, as all sorts of things hold up the traffic there.

Mini Van .........airport bus stop to denarau junction or town......... 50cents
Mini Van .........denarau junction or town to denarau.................. 50cents

Bus...............airport bus stop to denarau junction or town.........50-80 cents
Taxi..............airport arrival to denarau(Sheraton).............approx. $20.00

No worries dear..$20 Fijian, around AUS$5 is not so bad even if you get a taxi. But if you can contact the hotel it is fine, but be warned- they can take too long even if they say they are coming soon! They have a phone near the arrival but depending on your ETA the offices might be closed as what happened to us!

It should not take you longer than 20 -25 minutes ok? Plus it is more comfy in an aircon taxi-don't take the public bus especially if you got lots of luggage!
