| Banaue | Banaue - Safe in End June? Posted: Wed May 16, 2007 06:53 AM UTC
I just heard that there is a lot of rain / typhoons in end June. Is Banaue affected by this?
If there is a chance I may be caught in a landslide / typhoons I will change my plans! |

Landslides do happen, but mostly when a typhoon hit it directly with a strong torrential rains . June is always a typhoon season so its always a possibility. I have been to Banaue several times after a big typhoon, but they always manage to open the road after a day or so. The peripheral roads to Battad or Happao may take time to open, but but it doesnt take more than a week for it to be opened. Slippery walkways and fog would would be the major inconvenience during the rainy season.

Got it, Thanks!
I think I'll skip Banaue for now. Want to be safe.

After living in the Philippines for 5 years, it does rain start of june to sometime mid-August. I was told Banaue is the home of the rain. But it is quite strange because one time in July 2006 I was in Batad and here came a French couple with raincoats but there was no rain at all. They said it rained in Banaue. So see, sometimes it rains in Banaue town but in the outskirts it does not.
