hi, we are going to haiti via the dominican republic in june this year; as it is very hard to find up to date travel information about haiti i wonder if anyone could help us get an impression pricewise. is there any budget accomodation, and if so, where should we look?

Went to the Dom Rep 3 or 4 years ago. A tour rep talked about Haiti at some length. It seems to be a very poor country and one that has never opened its doors to tourists.
After we got back, there was a lot of civil unrest, so it does not sound to me like a place to go for a holiday unless you know what you are heading into. Perhaps if you have French connections or know someone out there, it might be different. I doubt whether you will find a great choice of holiday accomodation - no tourists and locals who have no money! Never been there so might be talking rubbish, as usual. Good luck if you get there.
