Tahiti My Honeymoon
Posted: Sun May 13, 2007 06:31 AM UTC
I have a question. My fiance has never been to the beach and I want to take her to a spot that she will never forget. We are getting married in August, the 11th, and I want to go to Tahiti. Where should I look for flights? Where should I look if I want to stay in a hut next to the water? I want to be able to make love for the first time with the ocean roaring in the background and the breeze blowing into our room. Please help, any advice or input would help. Thank you for time.

Welcome to VT Christopher.
Whether you're staying on Tahiti itself or on one of the other islands, you need to book a 'fare', which is an overwater bungalow.
Check out the French Polynesia pages here on VT - the search panel will take you there - for specific tips about hotels.

From US there is only flights made from Airfrance and AirTahitiNui from LAX and AirThaitiNui also from JFK. Check their utls for their timetables, oher airlines like Delta have codeshare.
I'm afraid it's a little bit late to find bargain fares for next August.

Awe...how romantic!! You guys are going to have the best time!!
My mate Colin and I (G'day Colin) have both been to Tahiti...but a long time ago.
Things have obviously changed and the place where hubby and I had our second honeymoon in 1989 (Moorea Lagoon Resort) has since been bought out by Sheraton. Although I suppose it probably has lost it's primitive charm, I've heard only good stories about the new Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort.
Here's the link -

I'm sure it'll be everything you and your new wife could ever dream of!!
Cheers, Ann :o)

We have been 2 times previously and are planning our third! Go thru Islands in the Sun.com. It's a great company!
