| Darwin | Cycling in July Posted: Sat May 12, 2007 01:54 PM UTC
I will be staying in Darwin for a week mid-July. I'm thinking of renting a bicycle just for local transportation.
1. Are there bike rental places, and can you recommend any? I'm after as plain a bike as possible. 2. What will the humidity be like? Would it be too much for cycling in comfort? Thanks |

I did a search and only one came up - Deadly Treadlies in Harriet Place in the city. But their advert doesn't specifically mention hire. Buying a cheap second hand bike and selling it back might be an option, although your time is short.
As far as humidity goes, July is right in the middle of the dry season, lowest humidity of the year. Coming from London you'll probably feel the heat, but humidity should be negligible.

I agree, if you're gunna cycle ay anytime Julys the best...it'll still be a consistent 30 degrees C or so but humidity wont start gettin unbearable till sept/oct time. I dont remember Harriets Place hiring bikes but am sure there would be somewhere..?!
