Hi All,
Is it possible to take the train from Rome to Vernazza, and from Vernazza to other cities within the cinque terre? Thank You for your responses.

Yes you can. Train travel is very convenient in the Cinque Terra. We travelled from Pisa, but you can also travel from other cities. I think the fast trains cost more. The local trains are much less expensive, but much slower with more stops. So you might want to spend the extra 20 or 30 Euros if you want to save time coming up from Rome.

But mind the schedule. At night, the trains can come infrequently. We missed a train in Manarola after dinner one night, and had to wait 2 hours for a late train back to Vernazza.

Trains are relatively frequent during the day between the 5 villages of the Cinque Terra, and you should visit all five. You can purchase single tickets or day tickets. Ask at the station when you get there. There are quite well structured for tourists.
