I've got to go and work in Birmingham all day Saturday (12th May), so will be going to New Street Station. My wife and 13 year old daughter are with me, so they want to wander around. Other than the usual retail therapy, any suggestions as to what there is to do around that area?

The cathedral is interesting and the Art Gallery is excellent (superb collection of Pre Raphaelites) - but they may not be into that.

Why not try THINK TANK at Millenium Point (not to far fron city centre - about 10 mins walk or short bus trip). Its an interactive science themed centre that may appeal to your child (and is quite interesting for the grown ups too!)

Cadbury World at Bourneville - really interesting and lots of free chocolate.
