We had an enjoyable evening at The Pier in Townsville. It specialised in seafood and we would recommend it.

Along The Strand mostly worth a try or at the Casino. Hope you enjoy it whatever you choose. But don't drive up to the top of Castle Hill afterwards ! Laurie.

My pleasure. And how are things in lovely Ayr ? Is it about cane burning time. We passed through in '98 on our way to the top of Cape York penninsula and it was quite a sight with all the smoke around. When I was in Townsville in the RAAF in mid fifties I used to listen to 4AY and 4TO. I don't know if it's common knowledge that the (in)famous John Laws did a stint on 4TO back then. Best wishes for your Townsville visit. No trouble nowadays crossing the Burdekin, eh? Regards. Laurie Edward.

I took Mum to Blue Bottle Cafe recently, found it really good. We came across it here:

There are a few menus on there, I think it's new for Townsville so I'm hoping to see more on there soon.
