Is it necessary to buy tickets for the train to MP in advance or can I just get them when I arrive in Cuzco? I'll be buying a ticket from Ollantaytambo and then a return ticket back to Cuzco.

If you are going during peak season then I'd suggest buying them a few days in advance if possible. I just added a few transportation tips on my MP page that may help you out.

If you are on a budget, i would take the bus to and from Ollatytambo and then take the train round trip to AC. I think it cost me $30+ take the busses rather than taking the train direct from Cusco
