Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Armenia From Yerevan and Tbilisi
Posted: Fri May 4, 2007 05:59 PM UTC
I am planing to get into Georgia by land through the Armenian boarders.

1) Is the boarder between Georgia and Armenia open for other nationalities to cross or is it restricted? It might sound like a stupid question but I need to make sure.

2) How is the bus services between Yervin and Tbilisi? How long is the trip? How much would it cost? How painful is the boarder crossing?

Thanks

If you are from Dubai, you should apply for visa before your arrival to Armenia. You can do it online at:

There are mini-buses from Yerevan to Tbilisi. The trip is around 6 hours. It costs up to $20.

Yes the border is open and it is painless depending on the peiople who make up your bus. I for example spent two hours there yesterday b/c one of the women was haggling over the cost of her customs tax for vegetables she was bringing in. The cost to US passport holders is $30 and it requires a full page of your passport. the bus without the time on the border is six hours and is quite beautiful.
