Is it possible to go by public transport from Chiayi to Sun Moon Lake? If so, which is the best way? Please help. Thanks

For Public transport, I still think you have to go to Taichung from Chiayi to Get a bus to go up to SML from outside Taichung RAILWAY Station.

hey
is it possible to get train from chiayi to ershui and then jiji rail line to shuili and bus to SML instead of Taichung? i know it's more switching... but it's better for scenic view... i think does anyone know how much it will cost to get from chiayi to ershui via train? thanks
