| Charlottesville | Jefferson Gravesite Posted: Thu May 3, 2007 10:10 PM UTC
The pictures show a fence around the tombstones in the Jefferson cemetary where he is buried. Is it possible to enter the area to do rubbings of the stones? Thanks!

I have never seen anyone inside the cemetery during the regular tours of Monticello. Perhaps you can ask for special permission.
My mother was once inside the cemetery to attend the funeral of one of Thomas Jefferson's descendants (my first art teacher) who can still be buried there.
