Armenia Turkish traveller visiting Armenia

Hello,

I am planning to visit Armenia this summer with an American friend, including Georgia and Azerbaijan, all by land, almost one month.

I guess I need to enter from Turkey into Armenia through Georgia. What about the border pass between theese three countries? Armenia-Azerbaijan?

I heard that Armenia asks visa even from my special passport. Can I get at the border?

Any tips, "do"s and "don't do"s?

The most exciting part of this travel will be meeting, talking and partying with locals for me. Anyone wants to meet?

My main points during all my travels are; history and culture, long walks, visits, talks during daytime; meet and party with locals at night.

Acommodation in Yerevan and other cities?

I will highly appreciate any recommendations and friendly help.

Best wishes.

Hey Alper,

Nice to hear you are visiting my country.

I'm not sure about your special visa issues, but you can easily get visa on Georgian border. It'll cost $30 if you are staying in Armenia up to 21 days.
About accomodation. If you are planning to stay at a hotel, there are lots of great ones in Yerevan. Go to www.armeniainfo.am to look for one. As for out of Yerevan areas, try to stay in bigger sities like Gyumri, Vanadzor etc to find a better hotel.

As for DOs and DON'Ts, Armenia is quite a democratic country, and you don't have to be afraid of speaking freely. The only thing I would recommend is do not photo military points.

Hope you will enjoy your stay here just as much as I enjoyed my visit to Istanbul last summer.

Cheers,
Narunj

Hi Narunj,

Thanks for your answer.

So, if I can get a visa at the Georgia-Armenia border, no need to worry. Are you sure about it?

They say Azerbaijan police will probably not let in someone with Armenian stamp. I also heard that Armenia will not let in someone with Azerbaijan stamp in his passport. So, what should I do?!

I would definitelly prefer a budget hotel or pension, just a clean bed and shower. Do you have any idea?

I am soo excited! :)

Anyone wants to meet there?

Best wishes.

Alper,

I'm sure about the visa. And you'll have no problem if you got to Azerbaijan first, and then through Georgia to Armenia. As for hotels, I don't really know very cheap ones, but the prices are mentioned in the link I provided in my previour reply.

Be well,
Narunj

Hi Nnarunj,

Thanks a lot! You made the things more clear for me.

So, ne need to any consulate visit and document!

Secondly, our root became clear: Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia-Georgia-Turkey.

I appreciate, and would like to communicate more if possible.

Any VT friends who would like to meet and have a drink there? Yerevan or any city. I am ready for adventures :)

Cheers!

The cheapest option is http://www.envoyhostel.com/. This is a hostel in central location where i stayed about a year ago. quite a nice hostel with a freindly staff.

I also doubt that Azeri police will not let you in if you have Armenian visa. I had such stamps and never had a problem.

Enjoy your trip
