Very simple,it's north of Nottingham,look at this site,nice interactive map on it too.

You may find it to be something of a disappointment perhaps... England is a very densely populated country.. and relatively little remains of the once-large Sherwood Forest.
Whilst the area does have some parts that are quite interesting, be prepared for relatively small forest areas - compared with other parts of Europe and certainly the rest of the world
