Hi. I am a girl from Iceland going to Rimini for 5 days in July with some friends. I found this hotel called Telstar at Via Viareggio on the internet and booked it. Please as I have not seen any comment on it can you tell me if it is ok place to stay. Also about its location in the city. Is it close to some shops or some public transportation. I am worrying about how to get around once I am there. What is the best way of transport and is it all over the city. Please let us know anything you can tell about this :)

To be truthful, I have not been to Rimini except to change from train to bus in order to go to San Marino. However, when I go to look up this address (Via Viareggio, 2) on www.paginegialle.it (this is the online Yellow Pages in Italian) - it not only shows where the hotel is, but also gives you a satellite view of the area.

1. Enter in your browser "www.paginegialle.it"
2. Click on the very small "en" in the middle of the page if you prefer English (you have the choices of Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish).
3. Under "What", enter the type of thing you want to see near this address, such as "restaurants".
4. Under "Where", enter "Rimini".
5. Under "Near to", enter "Via Viareggio".
6. Under "Number", enter "2" (this is the street number for the hotel that I got off another website).
7. Click on "Search"
8. You should now see a satellite view of the area (after a wait). You will notice that photo is fuzzy - we will take care of that in a minute. You will see markers showing restaurants in the area.
9. You will also notice that this address is close to the main road that runs along the beach - I have to believe that there is good public transportation along this road.
10. Zoom in (the "-" sign), and you will see much more detail. Notice that on the beach, that there are thousands of umbrellas and other things set up - it looks to me that this hotel is right in the heart of the beach tourist zone of Rimini...

Anyway, like I said, I haven't been along this stretch, but with this satellite technology, you can get a good idea of what it's like before you go ;-)

Thanks a lot Bill. Your information are very accurate and helpful and makes me feel more of ease with the location. As you say there must be a good transportation too and I hope people will understand some English as well:) If you want to go to Iceland be free to ask.
