Hi, I am flying to Weeze airport with my mun then travelling to a Hotel in Dusseldorf, near to main station. Our flight has now been diverted to Eindhoven! This means we will have to get a bus from Eindhoven to Weeze airport(1.5hours)then another bus from Weeze to Dusseldorf International (another hour or so)! My question is: do you know if we can get a bus or train direct from Eindhoven airport to Dusseldorf Main station?? My mum is 75 so want as little walking involved as possible.

BTW-that's exactly the reason why I try to avoid the LCC carriers as much as possible, as been discussed here often on VT forums. Seems cheap at first but in the end you pay more with lots of incoveniences.

Thank you nhoolb, Yes I realise that now, one bitten & all that eh! Wont be using them again. When you say 'Eindhoven Central Station' is that the airport?? Sorry not familiar with the airport situation at all.

Eindhoven Central is the railway station, not the airport, so you will have to take a bus from the airport to the station.
However, I remember now having read that Weeze airport will be closed in May (14-27 May), due to renovating the runway and installing a new landing system. Verifying it, I see now, according to my info, Ryanair (I assume that's your carrier) will give passengers the choice between cancelling, rebooking for another flight or, of course, maintaining the original reservation. Also I read that Ryanair will provide a free-of-charge shuttlebus between Eindhoven Airp. and DUS airp. The "normal" shuttlebus between Weeze and DUS city centre will now run from EIN airp to DUS city centre.
This time Ryanair (an LCC...) is not really to blame.....Nevertheless, I maintain my opinion in general....

Thank you..... Yes our carrier is Ryan air, they are offering a free bus from Eindhoven to Dusseldorf Weeze but then we have to get another bus from Weeze to Dusseldorf main station. We knew originally we had to do the Weeze to Dus main station journey but didnt bank on the extra bus journey from EIN tu Weeze. Thank you for your information you have been great. I will take a look on the site you have given me. You dont know how long it will take to get from Eindhoven airport to the train station by any chance do you?? :o)

Still, what I understand from the press release in aviation business is that Ryanair now also runs the bus (not free I assume) between EIN airp. and DUS city centre (the one that normally runs Weeze-DUS city).
I also see that other carriers using Weeze (LCCs...) are diverting to DUS airport....but that is too expensive for Ryanair I assume....Not that that helps you very much....
