hi all,

1) are there any water shops or supermarkets in yalong bay. our hotel charges 30 rmb per small water !!! we have small kids and require milk etc for parts of the day.

3) the hotel we are staying is horzon is very nice but not many kidy friendly options
we are staying breakfast only.

we think we need to take a taxi to sanya any advice appreciated

1) There is a Yalong Bay Center Plaza nearby Holiday Inn and I believe you may find some shops selling bottle water, not cheap, but I believe RMB10 maximum.
No other shops at Yalong Bay, you may take hotel shuttle to downtown and purchase something at supermarket.

2) Sheraton is better for kids, you have to walk cross other two resorts.
3) Taxi usually costs abt RMB100 from airport to Horizon, don't bargain a lot, otherwise they will follow you and recommend some routes or sites where they may get huge commission.

RMB30-40 from Da Dong Hai to your resort one way, a lit bit more expensive from downtown.

If you take a day tour by taxi, be alert if fare is too cheap.

Don't go to the restaurant especially for sea food recommended by taxi driver, remember, never. If you like some sea food, better dine in the hotel restaurant at Yalong Bay.

The Chinese restaurant at Horizon is really good, you may try Wenchang Chicken, Hele Crab there, not too expensive.

Did you mean that the Sheraton was better for kid's food or just better place for kids to stay in general?

RMB30-40 from Da Dong Hai to your resort one way - where /what is Da Dong Hai?

I did get a taxi 50rmb to sanya city this morning and passed a strip of shops selling kids clothes buckets etc and looked like water and coke etc a little way out of the yalong bay reserve, but I don't know what that area is called and therefore won't know what to say to the taxi if I want to go there next time.

The kids are loving the pool and beach but is there anything else that we should definately go to do/see with three yer old twins?

Sheraton provides more western style food than Horizon.
Da Dong Hai is the name of another beach near downtown where lots of hotels located, but too noisy.
There is a butterfly musuem at Yalong Bay Center Plaza, nearby Holiday Inn maybe good for your kids.
No other sites recommended for kids.

we've found out a small shop exsits right accross the road in the crown plaza - sells water, beer, food and snacks.

room service at horzon has a childrens menu so all sorted..
