Could you please tell me where to find the best clothes markets in Istanbul?
...as well as which beaches do you recommend around the city and what their water temperature is like in the end of May?

Thanks in advance

Hi Henriette,

There are very modern shopping centers in different parts of the city, full of brand shops, local and international. But if you look for cheap shopping, then your target is different. There are some places full of simple shops but if you have a taste you find very nice stuff with low prices, sometimes overproduction of famous brands.

There are some beaches inside Istanbul, but if you some further around, Sile, Agva and Kilyos are the closest beach towns. End of May is a bit cool but it is still possible to swim :)

By the way, I love Budapest!!

Feel free to ask any questions.

Hi Alper,

I appreciate your reply, the only thing I'm asking is to tell me some names of the shopping malls. I do have a good taste I think and I'm looking for a relatively good quality clothes at a good price. Since I have ever been to Turkey I feel very unfamiliar with the place, therefore any info would help, especially names.
I have no doubts that you love Budapest :-) When were you here and what did you do? I don't know how you found Hungarians, but I so much look forward to meeting the Turkish people.
May I ask what you do(just because your English is so good-I think this is not common, not even in Hungary).
Now I feel more comfortable, I think I met the first Turkish person :-)

Thank you.

Several beaches in Istanbul but in May it will be too cold 10-12c water quality not great,so they are there but no one is on them, but there are some nice beaches also north of the city on the black sea coast.Lots of clothes markets everywhere around Laleli and Sultanahmet areas.

Hi hope,

For the malls, I advice Kanyon Mall & Metro City both located in "Levent". They're next to each other and you can easily reach by metro from Taksim. Another popular one is Akmerkez and a few km. away from them in "Etiler" if you can find time!( http://www.kanyon.com.tr )

Beaches in Istanbul are mostly located on the Black Sea cost and water temp. is low at that time of the year.

Best wishes, Alper
