Just a quick question, I have booked Uluru for 3 nights in September. When is the best time to hire a car? Should i book one now or wait till I arrive? Wheres the best place to hire one from (or is it just one place).
Any other tips welcome, thanks |

First, will you arrive in Alice Springs? There are some local car rental companies. What you can do, is contat the compnies, both local and worldide (Avis, Hertz, Europcar...) and find out the prices and if you wish, book (I recommend it just in case there are not availability after a while). You always can cancel the reservation anytime.

I'd make a reservation anyway, there's always time to cancel it in case you find a cheaper car.

What are you planning to do with your car around Uluru ?
I think there ar not companies (and cars) in Ayers Rock and I would recommend to make a reservation. We rented ours from Thrifty through the Information Centre in Alice Springs, because we got a better deal. We had an one way rental from Alice Springs to Uluru.
