Angkor Wat malaria in july

I'm planning to go to Angkor wat in july with my son and wondering how dangerous can be malaria situation.How reliable is to take doxycyclin to prevent malaria

When I was last there a few years ago when Siem Reap was not so built up, Malaria while retaining a possibility, was not an issue.

July is actually the wet season and generally not the breeding season for mozzies. They like hot & dry weather to breed.

Bring DEET-based insect repellent and wear long-sleeved, light colored shirts (and long pants) in the mornings and evenings, when mosquitoes feed. Very low risk around the Angkor area, but it is wise to take general precautions.
