My wife & I are moving to Adelaide soon. I just got a job in Strathalbyn and my wife has got a job at Flinders Hospital. Where do you think we should look to live??? I love the surf and my wife loves to shop!!! I am open to all suggestions! Cheers

My daughtr lives in O'Halloran Hill which is a southern suburb about 20 minutes from beaches from Glenelg, and on down the coast of St Vincent Gulf and very handy for Flindres Med Centre where she had my grandson.
There is shopping at Glenelg and a big regional centre at Marion, between the hospital and Glenelg.
Strathalbyn is quite a way out, but if you lived somewhere along Sturt road/Upper Sturt Road, you should be accessible to both work places and only about halh an hour from the beach.
Someone from Adelaide could probably give you a more accurate answer.
Good luck,
Sue

It depends on whether you want to live closer to the beach or to Strathalbyn, if you could get a map of Adelaide Environs (BP service stations)you will be able to see which suburbs you can choose from. Both Flinders and Strathalbyn are south of Adelaide but if your wife is only working part time you might want to be nearer to Strathalbyn. Brighton is a nice beachside suburb but a long way from strath. You could also select say Reynella,Willunga, Athelstone, Pasadena, or nearby areas. If you google domain.com it lets you select a suburb with nearby suburbs as well and you could see houses for sale in the area.
When people are talking about a permanant move I think it is important for you to visit the places that interest you .driving a long way to work would drive me nuts wheras it doesn,t bother some people.

Lucky you! What about Blackwood? It's close to Flinders, beaches for swimming -- there is no surf on Adelaide suburban beaches, you have to go further south -- shopping is good, Marion shopping centre is close and Hyde Park and Unley are a short drive away for more a boutique/cafe feel. You'd be on your way to Strathalbyn, being on the right side of the city,,you'd be going against the traffic.Nothing is very far in Adelaide. Also consider towns south of Adelaide - Clarendon,McLaren Vale (dangerously close to great wineries) or Macclesfield -you would be within easy reach of good surf too.
Good luck

G'day mate,

I googled plastering jobs and found your questions, and I am in need of someone with plastering skills to work. I am based near brighton, a stones throw away from flinders hospital, and am after someone reliable and experienced for full time or part-time work.

If you are interested, it would be great to hear from you.
My phone number is 0413 565 994.

Thanks
Nathan

One of you will have a lot of hills driving to do, I suggest finding a place in Meadows, Echunga, Macclesfield or Strathalbyn.

I agree with the last posting. Mclaren vale etc is a gorgeous area, relatively close to both areas you are looking at..and close to those southern surf beaches as well..Adelaide is a great place to live, and by big city standard (not that we are) nothing is too far here!!!! Good luck with the move :-)
