Re: Tickets for midnight mass, Christmas Eve 2007 Posted: Sat April 28, 2007 12:14 AM UTC
Did you not see the following at the Santa Susanna website?
"If you want to apply for a ticket for Christmas or Easter, you can contact Monsignor Roger Roensch or the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan, at the Bishops Office for U.S. Visitors Office to the Vatican, Via dell' Umiltá 30, 00187 Rome, Italy.
You can telephone them at Rome Tel. 011-3906-6900-1821 or send them a fax at FAX: 011/3906/679-1448
They can also be reached by email at: nacvisoffrome@pnac.org
Do not expect a response from them because of the amount of requests they receive. This application is not a guarantee of a ticket for Christmas or Easter but only the possibility of a ticket!"
(see http://www.santasusanna.org/popeVatican/tickets.html )
As you can see from this page, you can't order these tickets through the Santa Susanna people anyway.
You have two ways of dealing with this: (1) contact your local diocese, tell them that you are going to Rome, and do they have a way to arrange for these tickets - the bishop's office in dioceses all over the world do this sort of thing to one extent or another, or (2) contact the email address or fax number above. Don't do both (your diocese or direct contact). I'd start with your diocese first, since the request may carry more weight coming from a bishop's administrative offices...
