Hello friends: I'm going to Malmö next August, and the question, is, which city do you recommend for a day trip, Lund or Ystad?

Yes, it's a tough one. Lund has its cathedral and the intereesting Kulturen Museum as well as the university atmosphere if you visit during terms - late August is when it kicks off again.
Ystad has more half timbered houses than anywhere in Scandinavia and a generally nice atmosphere. Will you rent a car or go by train? Just thinking if you will see some of the countryside or "just" the town centres...
