| Trieste | Taxis between Trieste & Slovenia, such as Portoroz? Posted: Tue April 24, 2007 03:29 PM UTC
I assume cabs can cross the border (somebody please verify), but are there any particular hassles using a cab? Additionally, if anyone has approximate ideas of cab fares, such as Trieste to Portoroz and back, that would be helpful too. Thank You, Ginny

Hi Ginny,
I took a taxi from Trieste to Koper in May 2005 and paid 60 Euros one way. I then caught the local bus from Koper to Piran (via Portoroz) in order to save a bit of money. On my return to Trieste I used a Slovenian taxi firm (Bogdan Bevk) and paid 50 Euros for the journey from Piran to Trieste. There were no buses running on the day that I travelled (I understand that there may have been a strike taking place), otherwise I would have paid a few Euros and caught the bus instead. Enjoy your trip! Jonathan
