| Loen | Coffee in Loen Posted: Mon April 23, 2007 02:53 PM UTC
I will be in Loen in June, staying at the Alexandra Hotel for a conference. Does anyone know about the quality of the coffee there, or in Loen in general? We admit to being coffee'snobs.'

Kathy, I have not been there but can inform you that Norway is one of the countries who drink most coffee pr capita(? rignt word?) in the world :)
Should think that you will get fresh and good coffee at Alexandra Hotell.

It's true like Ruffen says that Norwegians are well known for their coffee drinking. Unfortunately, that does not imply that all Norwegian coffee is good (talking barista quality). Most places will offer fresh black filter coffee with cream if you want. On the other hand, if you're looking for a steaming hot espresso or a macchiato or that kinda thing you would look for a kaffebar (coffee house). I've never been to Loen so I wouldn't know if they had one, though they seem to pop up everywhere. good luck!
