We are vacationing in Torino for one week and will have a car to vist the alps etc. I know many Italians are on holiday in August but I wondered if a city like Torino still has many things open to see and restaurants to go to. anyone familiar with this please let me know so we can plan accordingly--Many many thanks-Gene

I was in Torino for the first ten days of August in 2005 and a lot of stuff was still open. The things that really close are the small, mom-and-pop type stores, restaurants and cafes. Things like museums, art galleries and churches should still be open.
