We are thinking of spending 3 days in San Sebastian in mid July during our visit to Barcelona, and we are planning to take the train . Can someone recommend us a centrally located hotel in San Sebastian with an easy access to major attractions?

I enjoy the Hotel Londres overlooking La Concha Beach. It is one of the higher priced hotels. It is about a 10 minute stroll to the old town, aquarium, museum St. Telmo. Karl

You will love SS!!
We stayed at a hotel about a 5 minute taxi drive from the town and the beach and it was so clean/friendly and excellent value for money. It was called Palacio de Aiete.

Unless you have pleeeeeenty of time, I think that 3 days in SS is too much, do not spend there more than 1 an a half day, and it´s already quite a lot. You have lot of places nearby that are great to visit, specially along the coast, check also the chance to visit Bilbao, one hour by Bus from SS.

As Jon says, there are some great areas to visit that are very close to SS. It is a very easy bus ride to Bilbao as well as Biarritz to the North. If you have a car you can the church and former home of Ignasius Loyola in Azpietia, or buzz up into the Pyrenees or over to the Bordeaux area in France. The food is incredible. I could easily spend a week in San Sebastian. Karl
