Hi All, I met a Sicilian woman a few years back who told me about a market in Palermo where I could buy designer clothing seconds or that "had fallen off the truck" for amazingly cheap prices. It sounded like USA second hand pricing. Does anyone have a location and name for this market? I hope to be there in May/June.
Also, has anyone got info on a cheap place to stay or at least the coolest area for the money for a couple on honeymoon? We want to hang out there for about a week. Ciao! Michelle |

The only market i saw any clothing in ws the Vucciria one; tended to be more sportswear rathwer than designer clothing (in 2005).
The centre for activity and where we found best to hang out and take the passageiata is around the Piazza Castelnuovo and the area around the Politeama. Also nearby, from the Quattro Canti (Four Corners) down to the Port. Our hotel was near the station (Piazza Guilio Cesare) on Via Roma, 72. It was OK and OK value fo money, good location, but nearer the Piazza Castelnuovo would have been better in retrospect, i.e. a high number ob Via Roma, 300 say. I recall a hotel up tat way called Cristal Palace (sic), (in slightly mis-spelt English, not Palazzo di Cristallo) but have not priced it or stayed there. Be sure to visit Monreale before you leave!
