Macao Hong Kong - Macao Lonely Planet Book
Posted: Sat April 21, 2007 11:57 AM UTC
Hello,

I have been in Macao for two days now and I haven't been able to find the Hong Kong - Macao Lonely Planet Book, does anyone know where they sell it? Just a general discription is needed.

Thank you,

Helena

Did you try the airport when you came in? I usually see travel guides for sale at the airports when I pass through.

When you Google up "bookstores Macau" you get a few hits, perhaps one of the store managers can help direct you locally.

Good luck.

While the reply above was done in kindness, it's pretty useless. The Macao International Airport is small, and there aren't any books for sale. Also, unless you speak Chinese, you will not be able to communicate with the bookstore employees. Since I had the same problem looking for another Lonely Planet book while Macau, I know places to get them.
The Macao Museum "Shop" is probably the easiest place to find the HK/Macao LP. They have about 30 LP titles, but only the HK/Macao and the China titles are current editions, the rest are old editions. "BookaChino" at Rua Cidade de Santarem #434, and "Plaza Culture Macau" at Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira De Almeida #32G, have a full selection of current LP books.

Thanks freedomfighting for the info; I was able to find it at the Catholic bookstore on Trav. do Bispo. It was right off of Senado Square.
