Let's assume that one reaches Kanchanburi at around 4 pm, and does Cemetary, Museum (in Kanchanchanburi town) and Bridge on the river Kwai on the same day. Now One is ready to start one's next day early morning.
Would it be possible to do now Tiger Temple, long boat tail River Kwai, Elephant Rides, Erawan Falls - all in one day by starting early monning (and be back to Bangkok by night). If yes, can anyone please help to plan this itinerary? Are there tours available that can be purchased in Kanchanburi the previous day, to cover all of above attractions in a single day? Or one would have to hire a taxi? Any recommendations for tour operator? Or for a taxi driver? Any inputs in this regard would be appreciated. |

Hi What you ask is easily done. We took a day coach tour from Bangkok and did all you are wanting except Erwan Falls. One of the best days I have had in my 4 holidays to Thailand. Have a look at my Kanchanaburi page and you will see photos of what we did. We also had a 40 minute train ride along the Thai Burma railway.
Good Luck, Mike

I think its possible to do what you want in that time, but just one tip. Stay at Tiger Temple at 12:00 (exactly) the time they feed the baby tiger and the adults also.At 16:00 only the adults are feeded.
While in Kanchanaburi I think its easier to hire a taxi because all the attractions are near except Erawan Falls, I think its 30/60 Km from Kanchanaburi, and doing by our self without a tour operator you can control your own time.

Lots of day trips available Jolly Frog and Phon Phen guesthouses both have agents and there are numerous others to choose from. Have a late afternoon blast on the long tail boat the day before, Be careful when negotiating to understand what you are getting. A 2 hour boat ride is in fact about 20 minutes, leave you at the temple for an hour and another 20 minutes back.500-600 for the boat (not per person), when they are flat chat these boats are a bum numbing experience, a real 2 hours would give you renal failure. Tiger temple tends to be a seperate trip around 3.00 pm. Please don't rush Erawan falls it is truely superb its 72k from Kan. I have been to Kan many times and never visited the Tiger Temple but then I don't like to see captive animals. I usually hire a motorbike 200/day or 250/day for the auto Yamaha. The guesthouses are very user friendly and can also organise a taxi for the day if thats the way you want to go. I reckon 2000 for the day is tops. Erawan is a national park and the entrance fee just went up to 400b (you will pay 50b for your driver and I think 50b for the car), Tiger temple also has an entrance fee, I think 400 also. Kanchanaburri is a real gem, I have been back many times and see the same people re-visiting, so I am not the only one who thinks that. It is a real laid back place with reasonable accom and food and if you look under the surface heaps to do.
