You should contact the VTer Swissinai as he lives there and can give you an accurate response. We stayed a little bit out of Nuweiba and had no tourble with either coral or rocks.

Nuweiba has some of the best beaches in Sinai and you will find some nice sandy beaches that are perfect for toddlers and also with long stretches of coral for snorkelling very close by.

Cheers Dora !
I should point out that Hawkhead stayed at the Regina which is next door to the Swisscare. On the other side of Swisscare is the Tropicana. All three have a very nice safe stretch of sandy beach with excellent snorkelling just 30 - 40 metres off and parallel to beach.

I stayed in the northern part of Nuweiba last year (Nakhil Inn - which is great) which I believe is in the Dunes area and you definitely needed 'jelly' shoes. we are going back later this year and have purchased the shoes in preparation!

Actually the Nakheel Inn is in Tarabeen at the northern end of Nuweiba. Just south of it is Nuweiba Town with the beaches of City Beach, Fayrouza Camp, Nuweiba Holiday Village, Waha Village and Habiba Camp, then comes the Duna area dotted by various camps as well as the small hotels of Casa del Mare and Ciao, then comes the Corniche strip with small hotels such as Sultana and La Sirene before the flood channel and then the mid sized hotels of Tropicana, Swisscare, Regina and Domina Elaria. Round the corner from the MFO station facing directly south is the Nuweiba Hilton before the port and, after the port, Sayedeen, then comes Maizena.
Hilton and Sayadeen have very good beaches though with very little coral, whilst my favourite part is the strip from Tropicana down to Domina Elaria and its a nice sandy beach with excellent coral just off-shore.
