1.What will be the status of the road from Manali to Leh. It will be opened or closed around 15June,2007?
2.Can I do Manali to Leh in June,2007 by Maruti 800. Pls advise. |

Last done that trip back in 2001 and the road was open at that time of year but be warned of flash floods from the Leh end. The roads got washed away and ended up flying back to delhi. I did the 2 day trip by 4x4 jeep.

The road will be opened and its a good time to do this in June. We went there a few years back in July and the condition of roads was bad. I'd suggest you to hire a better vehicle and forget Maruti 800. If you have decided to go on with Maruti 800, take a pack of MSEAL or similar stuff because you'll need it when rocks on the roads hit your engine and it starts leaking.
