| Kanchanaburi | One day itenerary Posted: Wed April 18, 2007 06:23 AM UTC
I am considering Kanchanaburi for 1-day trip from Bangkok (by bus). Interested in Tiger Temple, long boat tail River Kwai, Elephant Rides, Erawan Falls. Is it possible to do all in one day. What is the best way to get them all? Tuktuk? Pls advise. Many thanks

hi, one day to do all of this is a bit much and forget going by tuk tuk, give this a thought
private taxi for a day 3 hours or a bit less maybe to kanchanaburi, visit the Jeath museum on to the cemetary have the driver drop you off at the train station and go by train across the bridge and a further 1 hour along the death railway will bring you to tham kra sai viaduct which is great for photos the driver will meet you at tham kra sai and from there on to the tiger temple arriving early afternoon when the tigers will be out in the canyon for more photos they are put back into the cages at 4 o'clock in the afternoon then back to bkk, if you did this and set off from bkk at 06.00 you will get back at about 19.00 hrs so it aint feasable to fit anything else into the day, les

Hi,
One question in the contxt of the original post. Let's assume that one reaches Kanchanburi the previous day afternoon, let's say at around 4 pm, and does Cemetary, Museum (in Kanchanchanburi town) and Bridge on the river Kwai on the same day. Now One is ready to start one's day early next morning. Would it be possible to do now Tiger Temple, long boat tail River Kwai, Elephant Rides, Erawan Falls - all in one day by starting early monning. if yes, can anyone please help to plan this itinerary? are there tours that can be purchased in kanchanburi the previous day, to cover all of above attractions in a single day? Or one would have to hire a taxi? Any inputs in this regard would be appreciated.

Hi We did all this except for the Erwan Falls but also had a 40 minute train ride on the Thai Burma railway, just fabulous. Also Bridge on River Kwai and the War Cemetery. Have a look at my Kanchanaburi pages and you will see exactly what was included, a fantastic day.
Good Luck Mike
