How common is it to see sloths in the Bocas Del Toro area in late July/early August? How common is it to see sloths in Puerto Viejo? We are going to Bocas and are wondering if we need to make a side trip to Puerto Viejo to make sure we see some sloths.

hi, not sure if you have already gone to bocas.. but it is pretty easy to see sloths if you go to the right place. and also, the more secluded the beach as well, the more likely you are to seeing it.
but if you want a sure chance to see sloths as well as other cool wildlife and help towards a worthy ecotourism project, check out Salt Creek. get in touchwith a tour company in bocas that goes to salt creek community. you pay to enter the community and then a local guide will take you through an easy circular trail and show you lots of animals. let me know if you need more advice, as i used to run these tours when i lived there. have fun!
