| Cuzco | Internal Flights in South America Posted: Tue April 17, 2007 06:30 PM UTC
Hi All,
I am off to South America in August and was wondering about the ease of picking up internal flights one way from either cuzco to buenos aires or la paz to buenos aires? Cheers |

Yes, there are many flights but they tend to be rather expensive. GOL the low cost Brazilian airline has added flights to Santa Cruz, Bolivia and they do fly to Buenos Aires.

Cuzco to BA always goes thru Lima I believe...I'm taking Taca down there, I know Lan Peru flies there too. They both have websites you can find easily.

Lloyd Aereo Boliviano (LAB Airlines) used to have a flight several times a week Cusco-La Paz. However I learned a few weeks ago that LAB suspended operations but don't know yet if they resumed flying.
TACA and LAN fly several times a day CUZ-LIM and from there on you could try connections with them (use "multiple destinations" on their websites, also to compare fares). GOL suffers from delays and cancellations at this moment-I understand partly because of ATC problems in Brasil.

Might be safer booking ahead of time. Did you try Aerolineas Argentinas? They did have non stops from La Paz to Buenos Aires. They might be the best way to go.

As with almost all airfares, the earlier you book the better fares. Website fares are normally better than those bought at the airline's office.
For domestic flights in Peru you may want to check my tips on my transportation pages.
