| Gotland | Parties in gotland/ where to stay Posted: Tue April 17, 2007 09:37 AM UTC
I read in some of the answers thata there are mainly two big summer parties are worth seeing ( midsummer and the medieval one). I was wondering which one is the best one to choose and were is the best location to stay in the island? (not too expensive)

The Medieval one is what Gotland is really famous for so that's what I would pick (Midsummer is celebrated everywhere). Having said that, it is also the most expensive time here and you have to book accommodation and ferry/flight well in advance. The best location for getting around and being where it all happens is Visby even if there are plenty of scenic and cosy villages all over.
