I will be flying from Shanghai to Huangshan on 4th - 7th May.Can someone tell me whether its advisable to join a package tour or to do things on my own.I definitely will not hike up the mountain,I prefer the cable car.Any good and reliable travel agents?

It is easy to do Huangshan. When I was there, I did it alone, hiking up the mountain. However, you can opt for the cable car. Take note that your arrival date is during the Golden Week and there will be a long queue for the cable. Heard that it could be as long as 3 hrs. Have a good trip

If you have not paid your flight yet, cancel your trip.
RMB500/night accormadation on the mt. will be RMB1000+/night, and very very crowded.

Try Mt. Wuyi, not too crowded after May 4

Mt. Wuyi is located in Fujian Province, one of world natural & cutural heritage sites, same as Mt. Huangshan.

Mt. Wuyi is famous for it's variety of species, natural beauty and the origin of Chinese Tea. The Queen of Netherland has visited there.

Rafting along Jiuqu, will be a marvellous experience.

Most ancient hanging coffins found in the world, and much more...
