| Puerto Iguazú | Things to do in Iguazu in June Posted: Mon April 16, 2007 09:30 AM UTC
Hey all,
Once you've done the Falls is there anything else recommended in Iguazu? What's the nightlife like? Has anyone driven from Bs As to Iguazu? Is it a good idea with a rented car? Cheers, Pat |

Well, there are some decent restaurants in Puerto Iguazu and you may even be able to find a live music venue or two. We stumbled across three men playing guitars on stage and they were fantastic. There is also a casino in Puerto Iguazu but I never went there. Unfortunately, June is winter here in South America and while Iguazu will be warmer than Buenos Aires, I am not sure what the street scene will be like. While we were there, two weeks ago, it was warm and lots of people. If Puerto Iguazu is dead, you may want to consider staying on the Brazil side of the falls and also include a visit to Ciudad Este where some great deals on shopping are to be found. Suerte, Brian

Thanks for the advice.
Popping over to Brazil sounds like a plan. Regards, Pat.

Both towns are on the small side and definitly set up for tourists. One word of caution the Brazilian side (Foz) experiences a much higher crime rate than the Argentine side. Even some of the Brazilian's who lived there warned me about going out at night. I did go to the casino at the Grand and if that is of interest it is a nice casino, not sure how busy it will be at the time of year when you will be there. The web site for the national park is listed on my travel pages so you might check that out, I would recommend taking the boat trip up to the falls. You do get a bit wet but it is a great trip.
