how much does it cost for the people to take tourist across the niger river to villages?

You plan a wonderful trip including village visit! But it is up to you programme! How many villages do you want to visit near segou! There are nice villages of Bozo (fishermen of Mali) and Bambara (peasants), there are also Peul (sheperds)! It is a refreshing and wonderful trip you plan to do!

It really depends on what and where you want to go and with how many people.
If you want a really good advise and a reasonable price go ask Alkaye Traore; I have travelled with him several times (among others twice to Tomboctou).
I have enjoyed those trips very much; he is a reliable guide/ pinassier.
He not only offers you long(er) trips but also the short visits to Bozo and/or Peul villages.
