Ankara Exchange student (Bilkent) from Germany looking for a room..
Posted: Sat April 14, 2007 11:38 AM UTC
Hi guys,
I'm a 23 years old student from Germany and I'm looking for a room for the period from September 2007 - Januaray 2008 (I could pay up to 300 €/month). I will study at Bilkent University and have alreay asked them if it is possible to rent a room in their dormitories for just a month while searching for a private room: They told me that, due to the great demand, this is not possible anymore. In Germany there are a lot of Homepages especially designed for students looking for rooms, does anyone know such an adress for Ankara? (or, can anyone help me in any other way?).
Thank you very much

People in turkey are not so used to international students so it's not common to see vadvertiments at schools for rental rooms. But this doesn't mean they're not willing to rent or help. Bilkent is somewhat high income student's school, so there are many students who live in big houses like villas with lots of unused rooms. My suggestion just write an ad to advetisement boards at several places at school-i'm not sure if they have that kind of boards though- in english briefly explain your situation. Being a Turk i believe many local students would be more than happy to help u...We have a large house close but i'm in USA now, so i can't help much...i can understand you...hope to you good luck...

By the way i forgot to tell, 300 euros is good amount of money in Ankara. It's your money but for 300 euros i guess you can easily rent a small apartment of your own. i don't know prices now, my family rented 3 story villa to $500 some 7 years ago. i don't know prices now but still it shouldn't get too expensive. For a room
300 euro is a lot of money.

Hey!

I'm a resident student studying at Bilkent. I've just come back from my ERASMUS stay in Brussels and moved in a nice and cute flat in Emek( just next to the Bilkent bus stop). The place is fully furnished and has any kind of facility/equipment you can imagine. The cost is 210 euros per person. There's internet, cable TV, and many things like washing machine, iron, toast machine, a fully-equipped kitchen etc.

Please contact me from my GSM: +90 555 363 06 38 or email address: akselvannus@yahoo.com

I'm a neat, easy-going and a very sociable person. I'm starting German again this year and I think this is another asset :) Ich habe alles vergessen :)

I'm an Interpretation student studying english and french at Bilkent. I'd be happy to have a German roommate.

Thanks in advance,
Aksel
