Hello Folks I am planning to come to study in Larnaca. I woul dlike to know how safe is it and how are people over there. I speak english will that be ok?How easy is it for a International student to get job there. Do people from other countries and cultures settle in larnaca. I would be very happy if someone can guide me for the same. If someone can also provide with some messenger details where in I can have talk one to one basis.

Yes - almost everyone speaks at least some English.

There are quite a few foreigners in Larnaca, especially British.

Cyprus is a very safe place and people are usually quite friendly. However there are occational reports of racist remarks directed against South Asians since many people from Sri Lanka work as gardeners and maids in Cyprus and some people tend to look down on them.

i m sorry to say it, but the racism is not occasional. local people - cypriots are very much so. it does not matter where are you from, if you are not cypriot i will feel it every step.except the tourists ...
