Does anybody know how long it takes to get from Lugano (airport) to Menaggio? I'm seeing 18 kilometers from town to town but don't have any idea what buses run or how long they take. Is taxi an option and if so how much do they cost? It sounded like a lot of people commute from Menaggio to Lugano for work but I can't seem to find how long (time wise) that is.

You can get from Lugano Airport to the Lugano station by post bus. Check out:
http://www.lugano-airport.ch/welcome.cfm?page=muoversi&sub=3 for details. From Lugano, you should be able to pick up a post bus from Lugano to Menaggio. Check out http://www.menaggio.com/ita/e-lakes/Orari_bus.pdf for the schedule. Sorry, the schedule is in Italian only; by my imperfect Italian reading skills, "orario invernale" means "winter schedule," and "orario esternale" means "summer schedule." "Fer 6" means the bus runs Monday - Saturday, "Fest" means Saturday-Sunday, "Fer 5" means Monday-Friday, "F" means non-school days, and blank columns indicate daily departures. Enjoy your trip! Mark
