You will have a blast! Iceland is a beautiful country but make sure you're prepared before you go. During that time, you will not see the night sky and you won't see the northern lights! But you will get to spend a lot more time exploring the country. Make sure your visit to Iceland takes you up to Ísafjörður (pronounced Isafjoerthur). It's up in the north-western fjords and the area around there is spectacular. If you get there early enough (to the fjords, there's a ferry that leaves once a week I believe from the area of Ísafjörður up to the Hornstraddir peninsula. No one lives up there and it's complete wilderness. I unfortunately missed the ferries when I went in September 2002. A visit to Jökulsarlón in the east is also worthwhile (see my Hofn page)!
Iceland is extremely expensive, even when trying to travel on a budget. Make sure you account for this, especially when buying food. Everything but certain seafoods, lamb's meat and lamb's wool is imported. So expect to pay dearly for a hamburger. Well you can eat certain birds like puffin, but they're considered a delicacy even though they're native and as such pricey. Also, if you plan on doing any kind of tour while you're there (ie, horseback riding, snowmobiling, helicopter, whale watching, amphibian boat at Jökulsarlón, or kaying in the fjords) these are also quite expensive and you need to account for this as well. Oh if you want to try the kaying up near Ísafjörður, there's a tip in my Ísafjörður page with contact names. Unfortunately, they're down in Flateyri, but they will pick you up in Ísafjörður if you request it. Also, that is the best time to go whale watching. Iceland is the only place in the North Atlantic where you can see Blue Whales. I hope this helps. My tips on iceland may help, but maybe not.
